Hot Wheels scale guide: 1:64, 1:43, 1:24 and 1:15 explained

Scale is a ratio: a 1:64 car is sixty-four times smaller than the real thing. It sounds like a collector detail, but it decides what fits in a launcher, a garage deck or a display case.

1:64 — the track scale

This is the Hot Wheels standard. Mainline cars, car packs, Premium and Car Culture castings and our Formula 1 singles are all 1:64, which is why they run on every track set and park in every City garage.

1:43 — the display step up

A handful of Premium releases come in 1:43, a larger size that shows off detail on the shelf. They are display pieces first and not meant for the launcher.

1:24 — oversized Monster Trucks

Oversized Monster Trucks like Bone Shaker and Bigfoot are 1:24: big, chunky and made for hands rather than track. They pair with Monster Truck playsets sized for their tires.

1:15 and 1:16 — R/C for the floor and the yard

Our larger remote-control trucks and cars sit at 1:15 or 1:16. They need space — a hallway, a patio, a lawn — and bring features like terrain action and bending chassis.

Quick rule

If it says 1:64, it fits the orange track. Anything bigger has its own playground, and every product page in this catalog lists the scale in the spec table.
