Trouble has arrived at the police station, and it's the size of a dinosaur. In our T-Rex Chomp Down, kids place the included Hot Wheels car at the station, hit the slam launcher and send it racing through the T-Rex's mouth and around a 9-inch loop toward the defeat zone. The target sits on the dinosaur's tail, and hitting it is what saves the city.
It takes just enough force, not the most force. Launch too softly and the car falls short; overdo it and the shot can miss the mark. Nail it and the T-Rex topples, its eyes switching from angry yellow to knock-out X-es — the clearest scoreboard a 4-year-old could ask for. That instant feedback is what keeps kids adjusting, relaunching and trying again long after the first victory.
The base carries police-station-themed details for storytelling between showdowns, and connectors link the set to other Hot Wheels City sets, sold separately, so the dino fight can become one district of a bigger town, with the loop as its most dangerous intersection. Hot wheels + a dinosaur = fun for little boys
Purchased for four year-old grandson. He loves hot wheels and he loves dinosaurs so it was a hit.
Entertaining, but a bit of a struggle to use
A fun and challenging toy for a 4 year old. The biggest issue he has with it is getting the car set right, and hitting the activator just right. Might be just a little too advanced for him, but it keeps him engaged.
One of the best Hot Wheels Tacks!
It Does need some force, but is actually pretty good. (By my 8-year old) Easy to put together and lots of fun. Easy to reset to continue playing.
